The Jewish community of Rochester has created ONE new, community wide financial assistance application for families interested in sending their teen to Israel on an Israel experience program. Through this ONE community application, your family will be able to apply for financial assistance from the Farash Institute for Jewish Education, the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester and local area synagogues if you maintain an active membership and are a dues paying member. Applicant’s Statement of Intent
Provide a brief description explaining why you would like to attend a program in Israel and why you are choosing this particular program? In recognition of different learning styles, abilities, and preferences, alternative options to the essay portion of this application are welcome. Some possible alternatives include, but are not limited to: an art project, video, or oral presentation. If providing an alternative form of statement, please indicate below.

Statement of Financial Need
Please describe the family financial situation and circumstances that will affect the ability to pay for the applicant’s participation in the program (including expenses for college, day school, camp etc.). Please discuss any unique family situations, such as single parent household, disability, loss of employment, health issues, lifecycle events, medical expenses, debt or other situations. This statement should not exceed one page in length.

All application data is kept strictly confidential and is encrypted and stored on a secure server. Jewish Family Service of Rochester (JFS) is contracted to provide grant application assessment and evaluation services. JFS will analyze the data and provide the Freddy Fund Committee and the Jewish Federation Scholarship Committee with anonymous information so they can determine awards based on financial need.
