Freddy Fund Needs Based Financial Assistance Grant
The Farash Institute for Jewish Education through it’s Freddy Fund provides one time significant needs based financial assistance to teens who enroll in an organized teen travel program to Israel lasting a minimum of three weeks up to one year. Applications will be available February 1, 2017 and will be due February 28, 2017. These applications will be for needs based financial assistance grants for teen Israel programs this upcoming Summer 2017, for the Fall 2017 semester abroad or next year's 2017-2018 Gap Year studies.
Freddy Fund Gift of $360
The Farash Institute for Jewish Education through it's Freddy Fund also provides a one time non needs based incentive grant of $360 to teens who enroll in an organized teen travel program to Israel lasting a minimum of three weeks up to one year. Applications are currently available.
All application data is kept strictly confidential and is reviewed without any identifying information by the Freddy Fund Committee. Jewish Family Service (JFS) of Rochester is contracted to provide assessment and evaluation services. JFS will analyze the data and provide the Freddy Fund committee with anonymous information so the committee can determine awards based on financial need. Award checks will be sent directly to the Israel trip provider.

Grant funds are provided by the generosity of the Max and Marian Farash Charitable Foundation and the Gertrude Wynar Fund for Jewish Education at Rochester Area Community Foundation. Grants are administered in cooperation with the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester.
